Get your water tested
Bring a fresh water sample to a local pool store for a free computerized test, or use a quality home kit for day-to-day readings. Test elbow-deep, away from the returns, in a clean bottle.
Reading your report
Focus on the five core numbers first: chlorine, pH, alkalinity, calcium hardness and CYA. Our hard North Texas fill water makes calcium and pH especially worth watching.
